Description
One-pan comfort food with tender chicken, soft noodles, and a garlicky cream sauce, ready in 40 minutes. Bubbling mozzarella and parmesan top a rich, cheesy noodle bake for restaurant-quality family dinners.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 lb lasagna noodles, broken into thirds
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 tsp salt, or to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear chicken in batches until golden browned (2-3 minutes/side). Remove chicken.
Add butter to skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.
Return chicken to skillet, let simmer 3-4 minutes.
Add lasagna noodles, stir until coated in sauce and broth-cream mixture is absorbed.
Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella and half the parmesan over the top.
Transfer to oven, bake 15-20 minutes until noodles are tender and cheese is golden and bubbly.
Garnish with remaining parmesan before serving.
Notes
Use 100% olive oil instead of lard in the original recipe
Fresh garlic is strongly recommended for maximum depth of flavor
For thicker sauce, add a splash of cornstarch mixed with water (if desired)
Can substitute 1 cup milk + 1 cup half-and-half for heavy cream
